6.Hanajuji Riken (FlowerCross and Sword)

(Japanese)

This pattern is derived from ”Ami Riken", a typical Ako Dantsu design. The clearness of the riken (a sharp sword) pattern is the result of the scissoring technique, which brings the pattern into sharp relief.

Recently, the European rug market has introduced a same rug as an Art Deco-inspired rug and It was highly valued. The design of this piece reflects the trends of the early 20th century, when the Ako Dantsu industry was thriving.

This rug densely covered with elaborate patterns. I wonder how much time and effort it will take to finish one piece of this, and I get faint.

The use of dark brown and light blue colors was very stylish. The austere textured wood furniture and Windsor chairs would look great.
